Adam Curtis’ nieuwe documentaireserie heet: ‘The Trap. What Happened to Our Dreams of Freedom’, en wordt op zondagavond uitgezonden op BBC 2, om 22.00 uur. Een voorbeschouwing in The Guardian meldt:
the paranoid theories hatched during the cold war would come to inspire a peculiar, cold-hearted idea of personal freedom - one that helps explain everything from the rise of Prozac and Viagra to Labour’s obsession with healthcare targets, from the military crusades of George Bush and the rise of the Iraqi insurgency to the rampant diagnosis of attention deficit disorder in children.

Ik keek naar die documentaire over Van Gogh, dus Curtis moet nog. Ik hoop hem aan te kunnen trouwens, want zijn documentaires zijn soms wel erg veel beeld, geluid en tekst tegelijk.
Er is volgens mij geen enkel aflevering ooit van hem geweest die ik in éen keer helemaal uitzag. Dat kwam pas bij de herhalingen.
